ABOUT ME

My name is Amir Ghavam. I’m an Algonquin college recent graduate from animation program. I can recall being this energetic kid with a sense of purpose but no concrete direction to where to put it. As a kid I wanted to have the ability to communicate with every person on this planet without the limitations of language. That dream seemed impossible and out of reach. Though one day as I was watching “Ice age” this thought hit me; as I was sitting in my living room on this side of the world watching this movie, created by people from a different land and yet they were able to communicate with me as if there are no geographical boundaries. It was then that I figured animation is my way to reach my dream, communicate with others and make a difference. After that it was only the matter of effort. I went to art fundamental at Sheridan College and started drawing when I was 19; at that time I knew I was starting from rock bottom. As I was doing the right things and having the impression of running in circles, I knew that in the shadow, something was happening, the energy that my younger self was building up was coming into fruition. The years went by and here I am today. Every stroke that I marked today on paper fills my heart with joy as I found in these crisps lines that I draw the eternal dance partner.
